NASHVILLE, TN – January 12, 2006 - Terri Clark will headline the first annual “Music City Mardi Gras: A Celebration of Hope,” benefiting the Lisa Ross Parker Foundation [the Foundation], on February 28 at 7:30 PM at the infamous Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville. Tickets for the event are on sale now at all TicketMaster locations including the Wildhorse Saloon box office or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $25 for reserved seating (limited number); $15 for General Admission.

“Music City Mardi Gras” will also include performances from Chely Wright and Anita Cochran. GAC host Suzanne Alexander will serve as the night’s emcee. A silent auction will take place throughout the evening with celebrity paintings and various other items to bid on.

Terri Clark has dedicated her support to the Lisa Ross Parker Foundation. Terri wrote an emotional entry on her artist website www.TerriClark.com before the holidays a couple years ago telling of how her life was touched by the Ross family and how her song “The One You Love” came to be. Terri, a good friend of Lisa’s sister Janet, first met Lisa after she was in the hospital battling her fight with leukemia. She saw the fearless fight in Lisa. Only three days after that visit Lisa lost her battle. Terri says, “I saw the devastation it caused within a very close family, and how hard it was for them to keep the bedside vigil going, being from out of town, and not having many of the means to make staying with Lisa throughout her ordeal very easy.” After Lisa passed away, Terri was inspired to write the poignant “The One You Love.” This song is on her PAIN TO KILL album and can be heard at the Foundation’s website www.lrpfoundation.org. Terri’s fans have since answered her requests to donate to the Foundation in lieu of sending her gifts. In response, the Lisa Ross Parker Foundation has received donations from as far away as Australia and New Zealand.

The Lisa Ross Parker Foundation is a charitable foundation founded in 2004 by her sister Janet Ross, and operated by Janet and a small group of committed citizens, dedicated to the memory and charitable legacy of Lisa Ross Parker, whose life was taken at age 33 by leukemia. The Foundation’s mission encompasses two things that were most important to Lisa - providing support for families touched by cancer, and assisting animal welfare organizations. The Lisa Ross Parker Foundation, affiliated with the National Heritage Foundation, is a tax exempt public operating charity under Internal Revenue Code Sections 501 (c )(3) and 509 (a)(1).
