Janet Ross – Founder/President

President/Founder of the Lisa Ross Parker Foundation, Janet Ross was tragically affected by the loss of her only sibling, Lisa, in October of 2001. Lisa’s unbelievable courage and willingness to always look for opportunities to help others were the catalyst for creating this foundation and its mission. Janet’s personal ambition to carry out her sister’s legacy makes her the motivating force behind this foundation.

As a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, Janet’s background includes teaching and coaching at the college and high school levels. She is currently a territory manager with American Medical Systems and resides in Brentwood, TN.

Rachel Gwinn –Executive Director/Vice-President

Rachel Gwinn, as Executive Director, oversees the overall operations of the Foundation which include fundraising efforts and managing the Board of Advisors.

Gwinn’s close ties with Lisa and the Ross family along with her background in client relations, management and health care promotion make her an important asset in developing and maintaining the Foundation’s goals and overall mission which are to carry on what was most important to Lisa Ross Parker: providing support for families touched by cancer, and assisting animal welfare organizations.

Gwinn resigned from her position as the Director of Client Services at Gordian Health Solutions, Inc., on August 15th. During her 7 year tenure at Gordian, Gwinn managed several contracted health management initiatives for Gordian clients including effective communication with employer groups, seamless program implementation and maintenance, along with tracking and reporting management. She has an extensive background in exercise physiology and was employed at the Cooper Wellness Program in Dallas (part of the Cooper Institute for Aerobic Research in Dallas). She assisted in the complete day-to-day management of the program, while promoting lifestyle changes in the areas of fitness, nutrition, stress management, and preventive health.

A graduate of Centenary College of Louisiana, Rachel holds a B.S. degree in Health and Exercise with a minor in Business Administration.

Terry Fairfax –Secretary

Formerly the founding President and CEO of 4walls.com in Cleveland, Ohio, an instructor at the University of Akron School of Law, Managing Attorney in the Nashville office of Boecker & Fairfax, P.C., and Vice President of Client Relations for Synovus Trust at the Bank of Nashville, Terry is now a financial advisor for the world's leading wealth manager, UBS. He is a member of the National MS Society and is licensed to practice law in both Tennessee and Ohio . He also was his grandmother’s in-home caregiver as she battled and died with lymphoma. He brings his care for cancer patients along with his experience in the practice of law and financial planning and his business experience to provide valuable perspective to our Foundation.

Alice Crafts - Treasurer

Alice Crafts owns her own accounting firm, Alice Crafts, CPA, LLC. She has over twenty-five years of experience in public accounting, most recently as a tax partner for a Brentwood, TN CPA firm. Prior to that, she worked at both local and regional CPA firms in Tennessee. She serves on the Business Management Advisory Committee at Nashville State Community College and is a member of the AICPA and the TSCPA. Philanthropic activities include serving as the Director of Outreach Ministries for a local church. While serving in that capacity, the church renovated apartments for the Renewal House (a rehabilitation center for mothers with drug addictions); participated in the Room in the Inn (providing food and shelter to the homeless during the winter months); collected food for the Second Harvest Food Bank; and provided Christmas packages and visitation to patients of Comprehensive Care. Alice is also a member of the Board of Directors of Lovie's Legacy, a charitable organization benefiting animal welfare. In 2007, she served on the Race Committee as co-chair of operations for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Nashville, TN and volunteers on a consistent basis with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Alice will benefit our foundation through a combination of business and charitable experiences.

Advisory Committee

Keri Davenport

Keri is a Clinical Pharmacist at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, TN. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy in Atlanta, GA and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. With more than 10 years experience in health care, Keri has seen the effects of cancer on patients and their families and looks forward to further reaching out to them through the Foundation. Having a mother who is a cancer survivor and being a family friend of the Ross family, Keri brings her personal inspiration to seeing that the Foundation’s mission is realized and that Lisa’s hope to change things for the better is accomplished.

Anje Dowler

As a graduate of Cumberland Institute for Wellness Education, Anje is devoted to helping clients transform through mind, body, and spirit connection. More than operating just a typical massage clinic, she believes that the power of touch is a profound and real way of experiencing healing. Her business, Dynamic Touch is located in Nashville. Anje plans to use her expertise in human dynamics and her gift of touch to help with the work of the Foundation.

Beth Keyser

Beth Keyser is Vice President of Health Support for Healthways, a health and care support company, based in Nashville, TN. Healthways works closely with employers, government and health plan sponsors to slow disease progression and promote wellness. Beth joined Healthways as the organization was entering the wellness market space and currently acts as the strategic liaison between the sales and product teams.

Prior to Healthways, Beth was part of the founding management team at Gordian Health Solutions. As an Executive Vice President, Beth was responsible for directing all aspects of contracted health management initiatives. Beth began her career in wellness by building a successful corporate health management programs for a 277 site financial institution in the Southeast.

Beth is a Certified Health Education Specialist through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc. and is also a Certified Health Promotion Director through the Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research. Beth holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern Mississippi College of Health and Human Science and an Executive Masters of Science in Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

In addition to the Lisa Ross Parker Foundation, Beth also serves on the board of Graduate Alumni Health Programs at UAB. Beth is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Shana King

After fifteen years in the healthcare field, Shana is leaving to join Our Kids, a non profit group that provides treatment and counseling to children who are victims of sexual abuse. A long time animal advocate, she has volunteered with Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary and supported several county humane associations. Through her involvement with non-profit organizations, Shana has found a true passion for event planning and fundraising. A native Nashvillian and graduate of MTSU, Shana has a BS degree in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Criminal Justice.

Tami Ross

Tami is currently the Executive Producer for Universal Digital Productions. Considered a professional organizer, Tami started designing websites as a way to integrate her creative and analytical nature. Having experienced the effects of Cancer within her family at a very young age, Tami began working with non-for-profit groups at the age of twelve. She is very excited to be apart of the Lisa Ross Parker Foundation.

Tammy Ruff

Tammy, an Associate Professor of Psychology, has spent the last 16 years at Nashville State Community College in Nashville, TN. She did her undergraduate work at Belmont University and graduate studies at Vanderbilt University and Middle Tennessee State University. Her expertise in her field and passion for teaching won her the award for Teacher of the Year, Arts and Sciences, 2000 at NSCC. She has served as President of the Middle Tennessee Counseling Association, Faculty Senate Chair at NSCC, President of the NSCC Chapter of the American Association of University Professors, and is a member of the American Psychological Association. A longtime friend of the Ross family, she contributes leadership and interpersonal skills to the Foundation.

Paige Turner

Paige is the Health and Wellness Coordinator for Pancoast Benefits in Nashville, TN. She coordinates and implements Corporate Wellness programs in mid-state corporations. Formerly the Director of Health and Wellness for Easter Seals Turner Family Center, she brings four years experience working in the not-for-profit sector to the Foundation. She was instrumental in implementing the Jack Daniels RiverBank Run, now in its third year as a profitable fundraiser for Easter Seals. Having been a close friend to Lisa and the Ross family for over 20 years, Paige brings personal motivation to help see that this foundation is successful in carrying on Lisa's legacy.
