The Lisa Ross Parker Foundation Announces More Grant Awards to Local Animal Welfare Organizations

BRENTWOOD, TN – May 14, 2008 – The Lisa Ross Parker Foundation is pleased to announce grant awards to four local animal welfare organizations. Each grant was awarded based on the mission and dedication the organizations show toward animal advocacy.

The first two grants were awarded based on need after the tornados that hit our area in early February. The Humane Society of Sumner County (
www.sumnerhumane.org) took in animals from the destruction in Trousdale County. The Madison County Humane Society was overwhelmed with animals from the storms in the Jackson area. The grants were used to help these groups during this time.

The third grant was awarded to Horse Haven of Tennessee (www.horsehaven.org). They advocate for, rescue, protect, and defend our God-given equine from abuse and neglect in Tennessee. They have cared for 229 horses to date from all over the state and  are currently the only equine rescue organization in Tennessee.
The fourth grant was awarded to Safe Place for Animals (
www.safeplaceforanimals.com). Their main goal is to create a center that will provide temporary residence to orphaned animals and promote quality
adoptions. They also participate in education and training in the community to promote safe neighborhoods for people and animals.

The Lisa Ross Parker Foundation assists animal welfare organizations and animals in need. Lisa believed that every animal’s life was worth saving. We will continue to assist organizations that have that goal in mind.
